Nearby Chapel Street is well pedestrianised and is a particularly historic and winding route, leading down towards the seafront. Many interesting independent retailers, waterfront eateries and traditional pubs reside in this part of Penzance.

Along the coastline, Battery Road, leads to the South Terrace and the Western Promenade Road, and this stretch is a prominent thoroughfare in Penzance, edging the seafront and connecting many nearby hotels and guesthouses. Slightly inland and enjoying a fairly central location, the Penlee Memorial Park covers a vast area, being home to the much visited Penlee House Art Gallery and Museum and edged by Alverton Place, Park Corner and Morrab Road.
